Piaggio Museum is a strikingly beautiful and intristing place that tells a great story, the story of the Italian two-wheeler become more popular in the world. Opened on 29 March 2000, it occupies the three thousand square meters of the former assembly line, one of the oldest warehouses of the Pontedera factory.Inside you can see the results of the projects by Giovanni Casiraghi, Louis Pegna, Corradino D'Ascanio, as well as written documents and photographs.The Museum houses the collections Piaggio, Vespa and Gilera, unique, original, fascinating, sometimes curious, who have made the history of Italian and international transport: from the most beautiful or rare Vespa, that inspired the great artists, such as Salvador Dali, to those used to break records for speed and regularity of the fifties, the extraordinary train stainless steel, an expression of technology achieved by Piaggio in the thirties before the invention of the Vespa.In addition to the Vespa and Piaggio products, the Museum displays the most beautiful and prestigious motorcycles: the Gilera.

 How to reach the museum: Museo Piaggio "Giovanni Alberto Agnelli" avenue Rinaldo Piaggio 7-56025 Pontedera (PI), near the station.By car: Take the A1 motorway and exit at Firenze - Scandicci. Then you follow the signs to Pisa - Livorno superstrada and continue till exit Pontedera.By train: from Florence's Santa Maria Novella station, take the train to Pisa and exit at Pontedera - Casciana (the trip takes about an hour).

Il Museo Piaggio è un luogo suggestivo ed interessante che racconta una grande storia, la storia del mezzo a due ruote italiano divenuto più famoso del mondo. Inaugurato il 29 marzo del 2000, occupa i tremila metri quadri dell'ex catena di montaggio, uno dei capannoni più antichi dello stabilimento di Pontedera.
All'interno sono visibili i risultati dei progetti di Giovanni Casiraghi, Luigi Pegna, Corradino D'Ascanio, oltre a documenti scritti e fotografie dell'epoca.
Il Museo ospita le collezioni Piaggio, Vespa e Gilera, pezzi unici, originali, affascinanti, a volte curiosi, che hanno fatto la storia dei trasporti italiana e mondiale: dalle Vespa più belle o rare che hanno ispirato i grandi artisti, come Salvador Dalì, a quelle usate per battere i record di velocità e regolarità degli anni cinquanta, allo straordinario treno in acciaio inossidabile, espressione della tecnologia raggiunta da Piaggio negli anni Trenta prima dell'invenzione della Vespa.
Oltre alla Vespa e agli altri prodotti Piaggio, al Museo sono esposte le più belle e prestigiose motociclette: la Gilera.

Come raggiungere il museo: Museo Piaggio "Giovanni Alberto Agnelli" viale Rinaldo Piaggio 7 - 56025 Pontedera (PI), vicino alla stazione.
In auto: prendere l'autostrada A1 ed uscire a Firenze - Scandicci. Dopo seguire le indicazioni per Pisa - Livorno, continuare in superstrada ed uscire a Pontedera.
In treno: da Firenze Santa Maria Novella  prendere il treno per Pisa e scendere alla stazione Pontedera - Casciana Terme (il tragitto dura circa un'ora).

Sant'Antimo Abbey

Sant'Antimo Abbey is near Montalcino, in a small valley, simple colors, where the houses blend into the countryside, where the contours of the landscape is blurred. The countryside is revealed in a game of feelings and lights, and never abandons us the cypress marking the trails. Montalcino leaving us behind, the valley Starcia unfolding before our eyes and as if by magic, in his solitude, there is the Abbey. Its forms kidnap us, seem to talk about old times. Its solemnity and grandeur witness how powerful and determining the influence of the ecclesiastical power.Among the finest examples of Romanesque architecture, the complex would be formed at the beginning of IX century by Carlo Magno, which remains on the right side of the church: on the one hand, the cloister with the mullioned window, the frames and the lintel forming the side door of the abbey he posts of the small door to the north. The present building, however, dates back to the twelfth century, travertine with three naves. Travertine and alabaster make games of light with light reflections that come from spendide windows.To add to the magic of the place you think of the songs in Latin that echo inside the abbey;all the functions are in fact sung in Gregorian chant.The church is open from 6:45a.m to 9:00 p.m (9:30 p.m in summer). The visits can be made from 10:15 a.m to 12.30a.m and from 3:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m during the working group and from 9:15a.m to 10:45 p.m and from 3:00 p.m to 6: 00 p.m during the holidays.

Sant'Antimo è un'abbazia nei pressi di Montalcino, in una valle piccola, semplice nei colori, in cui i casolari si confondono con la campagna, dove i contorni del paesaggio si sfumano. La campagna si svela in un gioco di sensazioni e di luci, mentre non ci abbandona mai il cipresso che segna i sentieri. Lasciando ci Montalcino alle spalle, la valle Starcia si apre davanti ai nostri occhi e come d'incanto, nella sua solitudine, ci appare l'Abbazia. Le sue forme ci rapiscono, sembrano quasi parlare dei tempi che furono. La sua solennità ed imponenza testimoniano quanto fosse potente e determinante l'influenza del potere ecclesiastico.
Fra i più bei esempi di architettura romanica, il complesso sarebbe nato all'inizio de IX secolo per volontà di Carlo Magno, di cui restano sul lato destro della chiesa alcuni resti:un lato,del chiostro con la trifora, gli,stipiti e l'architrave che formano la porta laterale dell'abbazia egli stipiti della piccola porta a nord. L'attuale costruzione, invece, risale al XII secolo, in travertino a tre navate. Sono impressionanti i giochi di luce che il travertino e l'alabastro compongono con i riflessi luminosi che entrano dalle spendide bifore.
Ad accrescere la magia del luogo ci pensano i canti in latino che riecheggiano all'interno dell'abbazia; tutte le funzioni, infatti sono cantate in gregoriano.
La chiesa rimane aperta dalle 6,45 alle 21,00 (21,30in estate). Le visite si possono effettuare dalle 10,15 alle 12,30 e dalle 15,00 alle 18,30 durante i gironi feriali e dalle 9,15 alle 10,45 e dalle 15,00 alle 18,00 durante i giorni festivi.
