A Sansepolcro vive ancora la tradizione tipicamente medievale  del tiro della balestra "grossa"; l'apice della diffusione della balestra si è avuta fra il 1200 ed il 1400 con l'uso dell'arma a scopi militari.

Oggi giorno se si parla di balestra a Sansepolcro ci si riferisce alla competizione che ha luogo a settembre, organizzato in onore di Sant'Egidio, documentata sin dal 1594 : la prima si svolge fra Rioni il lunedì successivo alla prima domenica di settembre, la seconda si disputa fra San Sepolcro e Gubbio la seconda domenica di settembre. Il secondo palio è sicuramente quello più famoso ed a cui partecipano più spettatori.
Il luogo prescelto per le gare è la Piazza Torre di Berta, centro della vita cittadina, alle ore 16.15. Prima dell'inizio del gioco, sfila il corteo storico che parte dalla Piazza. Il corteo si muove in un'atmosfera ricca di colori, costumi, armi, bandiere, portando alla testa il Vessillifero con il gonfalone troncato di bianco e nero di Sansepolcro, scortato da due mazzieri e seguito dal Capitano degli armati e otto armigeri. Tutti i figuranti indossano costumi ispirati agli affreschi del concittadino Piero della Francesca, che fu anche lui balestriere. Quindi seguono notabili, nobili, dame, cavalieri, paggi, alfieri, musici e sbandieratori. Il gruppo, che compone il corteo di Gubbio è presente con un analogo numero di partecipanti.
I balestrieri devono colpire un bersaglio ed ogni tiratore ha a disposizione un solo tiro.
Il bersaglio si trova a trentasei metri di distanza dalla panca dove sono appoggiate le balestre e consiste in una tavola circolare  di legno, da cui sporge un tronco di cono, la cui estremità ha un diametro di tredici centimetri. Il centro del cono è segnato da un dischetto nero di tre centimetri di diametro ed i balestrieri cercano di colpire proprio questo punto.
Al balestriere vincente andrà il Palio, un tempo era un prezioso drappo ricamato per confezionarsi un abito, oggi giorno si tratta di un'opera di un artista.

La città è in festa anche nei giorni precedenti, infatti si comincia mercoledì 31 agosto alle ore 21.00 con il palio tra i rioni, venerdì 9 settembre alle ore 20.00 si tiene il convivio rinascimentale sotto il loggiato di Piazza delle Laudi, un'occasione in cui poter assaporare sapori, odori tipici di un banchetto rinascimentale. Sabato 10 settembre dalle ore 17.00, poi, c'è l'offerta del cero nella Cattedrale di Sansepolcro: una messa ben augurale alla presenza dei rappresentanti delle corporazioni. In questi due fine settimana, Monteriggioni si veste a festa, tornano a rivivere personaggi reali e leggendari di un passato ormai lontano, ma che suscitano ancora mistero e magia. Acrobati, saltimbanchi, giocolieri, soldati, dame, cavalieri.....ripopolano questo antico borgo, fra i più bei borghi italiani, per renderlo ancora più suggestivo ed affascinante. Addirittura fuori dalle mura verrà allestito un presidio militare, con soldati e cavalieri, pronti per partire per le Crociate in terra Santa.
Il visitatore partecipa a questa atmosfera, infatti all'ingresso del castello si può cambiare l'Euro con il "Grosso", l'antica moneta della Repubblica Senese, coniata appositamente per l'occasione. All'interno, inoltre, sono presenti bancarelle  e locande dove si possono degustare piatti tipici locali, accompagnati da un ottimo vino. Le stradine ed i vicoli si animano con antichi mestieri, come il fabbro, i concai, che svelano i segreti della lavorazione degli orci, i maniscalchi e la bottega dello speziale, il fornaio.
Il programma è ricco di eventi ed iniziative, con musica, danze medioevali, artisti di strada, spettacoli teatrali, che lasceranno i visitatori ammaliati.
Sono in programma anche attività per i più piccoli, come la realizzazione di giocattoli, oggetti ed indumenti medioevali. Inoltre i bambini potranno giocare a giochi tipici medievali, come il gioco del tiro alla fune, il gioco della trave, palla a corda e giochi più antichi come Alea e Veleno.

Carnevale dei Figli di Bocco

Castiglion Fibocchi is a small town in the province of Arezzo, whose name derives from the Latin "castellum", that is fortified and "Filis Bocchi", which literally means sons of Bocco. Viareggio carnival

The carnival of Viareggio is a carnival event yearly held in the Tuscan a city of Viareggio.

Its main characteristic is given by the parade of floats and masks, usually made of paper – pulp, depicting caricatures of popular people, such as , showmen and sportsmen.  

The parade is held on the Viareggio avenue alongside the local beach; it is a circuit 2 kilometres (1,24 miles) long. Here the floats move  along the spectators, who can attend the show with no barriers, becoming in turn the protagonists of the parade.

During the carnival period, Viareggio change into a true open-air museum, where people coming from all over the world meet o enjoy together.

 The first carnival parade was held in 1873, when some wealthy middle-class men decided to organize a  parade of floats adorned with flowers.

The official mascot of the Viareggio carnival is Burlamacco, first depicted in 1931 by Uberto Bonetti.

The Cavalcade of the Three Kings - La Cavalcata dei Magi

Every year on January 6th a solemn procession in costume, consisting of about 700 listed and inspired by the famous fresco by Benozzo Gozzoli in the Chapel of the Magi in Palazzo Medici Riccardi, moves through the streets of Florence to celebrate the feast of the Epiphany, in memory the visit of the Three Kings to the Christ Child.

The Three Kings are on horseback, wearing sumptuous clothing of the Renaissance, are accompanied by the Procession of the Florentine Republic and parade along a route that starts from Piazza Pitti and runs along the ancient streets to the Piazza del Duomo. Chestnut Festival- la castagna in festa

Per chi ama la cioccolata, le dolcezze, questa e' la manifestazione giusta! La cittadina di Calenzano ha organizzato una fiera cioccolatosa, a cui parteciperanno i migliori cioccolatieri d'Italia per esporre le loro opere d'arte, ma anche per offrire ai visitatori degustazioni.

Nell'occasione i visitatori potranno votare e scegliere tra tutti gli espositori, il vincitore.
Anche i visitatori saranno premiati, visto che sarà messo in palio un soggiorno per due persone in un luogo di villeggiatura.

La fiera del cioccolato verrà allestita davanti ai giardini di via Don Minzoni, dalle 10.00 alle 20.00.

Flavours festival - La festa dei sapori

Pistoia, from the 26th to the 28th October 2012In the city center, near the Cathedral of San Zeno, there will be a "lustful singing and eating." It is a traveling exhibition, which this year has touched cities like Milan, Genoa, Picenza, Bellaria and aims to represent all types of traditional foods of the various Italian regions.

Conceived and organized by Holly Art Flavours, the event seeks to keep alive in the people the desire and curiosity to discover the great food traditions and culinary conaddistingue our country.

There will be about twenty stands of typical products from all regions of Italy, from Trentino to Sicily.

Will be an opportunity to sample, taste, discover new flavors, but also to spend two days in joy because they will always present musical entertainment and performances by various artists from the street.

Nel centro cittadino, nei dintorni della cattedrale di San Zeno, si terrà la " Golosona cantando e mangiando". È una manifestazione itinerante, che nel corso dell'anno ha toccato città come Milano, Genova, Picenza, Bellaria ed ha l'obiettivo di rappresenta tutte le tipologie di cibi tradizionali delle varie regioni italiane.

Ideata ed organizzata da Agrifoglio Arte Sapori, la manifestazione cerca di mantenere viva nella popolazione la voglia e la curiosità di scoprire la grande tradizione alimentare e culinaria che conaddistingue il nostro paese.

Saranno presenti circa venti banchi di prodotti tipici provenienti da tutte le regioni d'Italia, dal Trentino alla Sicilia.

Sarà l'occasione per assaggiare, gustare, scoprire nuovi sapori, ma anche di passare due giornate in allegria, visto che saranno sempre presenti intrattenimenti musicale e spettacoli di vari artisti da strada.

Una festa paesana, allestita nel centro storico della cittadina, dove poter a scorrere due giornate in allegria ed all'insegna del buon gusto.
Infatti, per le intere giornate saranno aperti stands gastronomici, dove poter gustare piatti tipici della Toscana e prodotti tipici dell'autunno, come minestradi pane, nicci con ricotta, castagnaccio, bruciate, ballotte, polenta ai funghi. Sabato gli stands apriranno i battenti alle ore 16.00, domenica alle ore 15.00.

Feast of the games for everyone - Firenze gioca!

Florence, 6-7 October 2012.

At the theater Obihall, Lungarno Aldo Moro, the most important playful event will be held in Florence, addressed to all, young and old. The opening hours are on Saturday from 12:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m and on Sunday from 10:00a.m to 8:00 p. m. The entrance is free.

Two days will be devoted entirely to games, ancient and modern, from all over the world, two playrooms will be set up, one for children and one for young people and adults, where you can borrow free games. Next to them some associations offer demonstrations, competitions and tournaments of games, both traditional and innovative, giving the opportunity to know and appreciate to the public the latest news.

During the event are offered several workshops for children, such as jiggling and traction, which always receives great success among the public, especially the younger one, the laboratory building games and items with recycled material, a laboratory of magic tricks, a laboratory painting ... and more.

Impossible to list all the initiatives. If you want to spend a day of fun, be again children for a short time and pick games and fun activities, this is the place for you!

By car: From either north or south exit of the A1 motorway from Florence South along the entire connection to Florence (SP127). After crossing the bridge over the Arno Varlungo, line up left turn at the traffic light. After 300 meters you will find the theater ObiHall on the left, in front of the RAI.

by train or bus: station Firenze Santa Maria Novella, line 14 Ataf Varlungo direction. Get off at "Varlungo 01" (the 16.ma from the station). Single ticket: 1.20 euro.

Presso il teatro Obihall, Lungarno Aldo Moro, si terrà la piu importante manifestazione ludica di Firenze, rivolta a tutti, grandi e piccini. L'orario di apertura è il sabato dalle 12.00 alle 24.00 e la domenica dalle 10.00 alle 20.00. L'ingresso e' libero.

Saranno due giornate interamente dedicato ai giochi, antichi e moderni, provenienti da tutto il mondo; verranno allestite due ludoteche, una per i più piccoli ed un'altra per i giovani ed adulti, dove è possibile prendere in prestito gratuito i giochi. Accanto ad esse alcune associazioni propongono dimostrazioni, tornei e gare di giochi, sia tradizionali che innovativi, dando la possibilità di far conoscere ed apprezzare al pubblico le ultime novità.
Durante la manifestazione vengono proposti diversi laboratori per bambini, come quello di giocoleria e motricità, che riscuote sempre grande successo nel pubblico, soprattutto quello più giovane, il laboratorio di costruzione giochi ed oggetti con materiale di riciclo, un laboratorio di trucchi magici, un laboratorio di pittura...ed altro ancora.
Impossibile elencare tutte le iniziative. Se volete passare una giornata all'insegna del divertimento, ritornare per un po' bambini e sbizzarrirvi con giochi ed attività ludiche, questo e' il posto giusto per voi!

in auto: Sia da Nord che da Sud l'uscita consigliata della A1 è Firenze Sud. Dal casello percorrere tutto il raccordo verso Firenze (SP127). Superato il ponte di Varlungo sull’Arno, incolonnarsi a sinistra per svoltare al semaforo. Dopo 300 metri si trova il Teatro ObiHall sulla sinistra, di fronte alla sede Rai.
in treno ed in autobus: Stazione di Firenze Santa Maria Novella: linea 14 Ataf direzione Varlungo. Scendere alla fermata “Varlungo 01″ (la 16.ma dalla Stazione). Biglietto per corsa singola: 1,20 euro.
